Cristiano Ronaldo, the goalkeepers’ nightmare did not waste any time getting to work at Manchester United as he returned to the club’s Carrington headquarters on Tuesday.

The Portugal star and his young family only landed in Manchester on Thursday evening, but Ronaldo reported for training at the first opportunity after isolating for five days at a seven-bedroom house in Cheshire.

The 36-year-old was able to rejoin United early following a £19.8million move from Juventus because he was suspended for Portugal’s World Cup qualifier in Azerbaijan last night.

The Portuguese star will wear the No.7 shirt during his second spell at the club and has been gearing up ahead of a potential second debut against Newcastle in the Premier League this weekend.

Ronaldo returned to Manchester last week ahead of schedule, in order to be in contention for the match and made his first appearance at the club’s training complex on Tuesday morning. He has completed a period of quarantine upon touching down in the UK, as per covid-19 guidelines.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner met with former teammate Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for the first time since completing his move and was also introduced to the group of players not currently away on international duty.

He even took part in his first training session with the club as he looks to fight for a starting role against Newcastle on Saturday afternoon.
