Vanna White, an American television personality and film actress, is best known as the host of Wheel of Fortune . She has hosted the show since 1983. White has also appeared in other television shows and movies such as LA Law , 227 , Super Show , Double Dragon , and Married With Children . White published her autobiography titled Vanna Speaks in 1987 which was listed in the bestseller books of that year. Before her career took off in entertainment, she was an avid crochet enthusiast for years.

Early life, biography and education of Vanna White

Vanna White was born Vanna Marie Rosich on February 18, 1957 , in Conway, South Carolina, USA. She is the daughter of Joan Marie and Miguel Angel Rosich . Her father is Puerto Rican. She is American and belongs to the White American ethnicity.

As a child, her parents divorced, and she took the name of her stepfather, Herbert Stackley White Jr. , a former real estate agent. White was a cheerleader at school.

White graduated from North Myrtle Beach High School.

Vanna White currently hosts Wheel of Fortune , a nationally syndicated version of a reality game show. She has been presenting this show since 1983.

White’s first game show appearance was on the June 20, 1980 episode of The Price Is Right , in which he was in the first four contestants.

Vanna did not appear on stage, but the clip of her run to Contestants’ Row was broadcast as part of The Price Is Right 25th Anniversary special in August 1996 and was also featured on the Game Show Moments Gone Bananas special broadcast.

After Wheel of Fortune host Susan Stafford left in October 1982, White was chosen as one of three substitute hostesses (along with Vicki McCarty and Summer Bartholomew) to co-host the show. On December 13, 1982, White became the show’s regular host and has remained the show’s daytime host.

Before marrying him, White dated centerfold Playgirl/Chippendales-dancer-turned-actor John Gibson in the 1980s, and they eventually got engaged.

It is reported that, in 2002, after divorcing her ex-husband George, she began dating Michele Kaye, a financial analyst . Later, she hired him and the couple spent four years together. However, due to some complications, they ended their engagement in 2006.

However, in 1986, Gibson died in a plane crash. During White’s absence to mourn her death, former host Susan Stafford appeared on Wheel of Fortune for a week of one episode.
