Despite its potential, his work has not yet been widely exploited by the cinema and the small screen. There are three telefilms based on his novels:  The Sky Wheel, Starlost: The Beginning  and  Lathe of Heaven . In addition, she herself appeared in a chapter of the documentary series  The True Story of Science Fiction .

Married to the French historian Charles Le Guin, the couple had three children.
