Unknown Gunmen abduct travellers in Ekiti
Four travellers have been abducted by Gunmen,along the Irele Ekiti-Oke Ako Highway in Ajoni Local Council Development Area.
The highway has been a haven for kidnappers in recent times, with there being several cases of abductions and killings.
The victims were said to be returning to Ibadan on Sunday after attending an event in Kogi.
They were ambushed by a gang of armed gunmen, who took them into the forest. As of the time of writing this report, the families of the victims have not been reached.
A community leader in Irele-Ekiti, Kehinde Abejide rue that the attacks had become incessant.
Abejide further said that, the government appears to be doing nothing despite the groans of the people in the state.
“Though we have in the past made local arrangements here relating to security, it can never be enough to confront these people.

“There is the need for a military post between Irele and Oke Ako to forestall attacks by these gunmen”, NAN quoted him saying.
State Commander of Amotekun Corps, retired Brig-Gen. Joe Komolafe, confirmed the incident.
Komolafe said operatives were already combing the forest in the area in search of the captives.
