Tyler Perry adopted a healthy lifestyle and hired a personal trainer to prepare his body for the action. Alex Cross and lost around 30 pounds in weight in the process. He worked out at the gym daily, with his workouts lasting about an hour. For his training, he chose a circuit training style that included cardio, free weights, bodyweight training, and cable work.

He also trained in the Israeli martial art form, Krav Maga. The sparring sessions and regular training gave him an extra boost in fighting stubborn fat deposits. When he’s not training for a specific role, he likes to go to Soul Cycle Studio to do the dynamic cycling exercises.

He complemented his regulated fitness schedule with clean and disciplined eating. He traded his pork chops for the grilled chicken breast fillets. He gave up the Big Easy food he grew up eating and instead ate scrambled eggs and ground turkey chili.

1. Tyler was an enthusiastic supporter of the Feeding America Foundation, which operates around 200 food banks and feeds around 46 million people across the United States.
2. In 2011, Forbes magazine named him the highest-earning entertainer for grossing $130 million from May 2010-2011.
3. In July 2009, after reading that the Valley Swim Club in Huntingdon Valley had shunned 65 children from Philadelphia Day Camp, he sponsored a day trip to Walt Disney World for the children.
4. As a child he suffered from asthma.
5. In 2013, his real estate company, ETPC LLC, acquired approximately 1100 acres of land in the suburbs of New Manchester, Georgia. In February 2014, the company purchased an additional 260 acres of land in the same area.
