Tushar Atre was the founder and CEO of the Santa Cruz-based digital marketing company called AtreNet Inc. The founder of Atrenet was kidnapped on October 1, 2019 from his lavish home. After searching for him for a day, his body was discovered in his girlfriend’s car and confirmed by police on October 2.

In 2020, the Sheriff’s Department announced Tuesday that it has arrested multiple people in connection with the death and kidnapping of Santa Cruz County technical executive Tushar Atre. However, the four suspects identified as Joshua Camps, 22, Kurtis Charters, Stephen Lindsay, 22, and Kaleb Charters, 19, arrested in the murder and kidnapping of Santa Cruz County tech CEO Tushar Atre , including two former colleagues.
