Tuchel reveals Thiago Silva ‘setback’ as Tammy Abraham is also ruled out of Leeds match
Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel confirmed that the team will be without Thiago Silva for Chelsea’s Premier League clash with Leeds this Saturday.
Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel confirmed that the team will be without Thiago Silva for Chelsea’s Premier League clash with Leeds. This, however, is coming after the Brazilian defender suffered a ‘setback’ in training.
Silva has not featured for Chelsea since a 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur in early February due to a thigh problem. Although he was on the bench in their 2-0 win over Everton last weekend he will play no part at Elland Road this Saturday.
“Thiago setback in training at the end of the session the day before yesterday he felt at the end something around the same area he was injured,” Tuchel told reporters ahead of the match.
‘So we had to take him back to a transition phase but not back in team training so he will be out.’

Consequently, the Chelsea boss will also be without striker Tammy Abraham, who is suffering from an ankle problem.
‘The same for Tammy, he has still the ankle pain from this tackle against Burnley he’s still not 100% comfortable,’ added Tuchel. ‘These two are out for tomorrow and everyone else is available.’ Chelsea beat Leeds 3-1 in the reverse fixture and will look to strengthen their grip on a top-four spot with another three points against Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
