Tré Cool is a member of the punk rock band Grüner Tag . He is best known as the band’s drummer but has also sung some of the songs. He is also a composer and multi-instrumentalist and can play guitar, bass, drums, accordion and violin. Green Day’s 2004 song “Wake Me Up When September Ends” was a cult hit. Tré had joined the Green Day Band in 1990 after 4 years of its inception.

- Lisea Lyons (1994-1996) – Tré met his first wife in 1994 when she moved to San Francisco after completing her college education. The couple married in March 1995 after the birth of their daughter in January 1995. She was named Ramona Isabel after Tré’s punk rock idol, Joey Ramone. The couple divorced in 1996. Lisea, a talented fine art photographer, lives in New York with her daughter.
- Claudia Sofia Suarez (2000–2003) – Tré married his second wife in May. The couple divorced in 2003. Claudia remarried an Aspen, Colorado-based celebrity attorney named David Bovino in 2013 and has a daughter with her second husband.
- Torry Castellano (2003–2004) – Tré was rumored to be working with the drummer of an all-female hard rock/punk rock band called The Donnas in 2003-2004. At the same time, Torry was battling tendinitis, underwent surgery and had to relearn drumming skills. The following year she began to suffer from shoulder problems. Torry eventually had to leave the world of rock behind and earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Stanford University. She then received admission to Harvard Law School.

First album
Tré Cool’s first studio album was called One Planet, One People (1987) as a member of The Lookouts . It was also Lookout!’s first album. Records. The drummer gave lead vocals for the first time in the song The Mushroom Explodes (1987).
Tré’s first studio album with Green Day was Kerplunk! (1991) was the band’s second studio album overall. The drummer passed on the lead vocals on Dominated Love Slave.

- At the age of 12 he joined his first band.
- Tré grew up in a rural area of Laytonville where his home had no electricity, television, or curtains. Despite this, he was engaged in outdoor activities.
- His father stated that as a child, Tré was quite a handful. He was a loud, obnoxious kid who always put on a performance for entertainment.
- His neighbor was Larry Livermore, founder of Lookout! Records. He couldn’t find a drummer for his punk rock band, so he asked a 12-year-old Tré to try. Tré immediately picked up the instrument and began playing his drumsticks on every surface of his house and car, driving his family insane.
- After just two months of training, Tré officially began playing The Viewpoints .
- Larry Livermore added “Cool” to Tré’s pre-existing nickname and thus his official stage name was formed.
- He met his Green Day band members Billie Joe and Mike from the non-profit music club Gilman in West Berkeley, where Tré moved after high school.
- Tré’s supportive father improvised a used bookmobile to help with the Green Days itinerary and even acted as a driver for the band’s three different tours.
- His father often feels surprised at the transition from all Green Day band members becoming mature musicians with serious work ethics, because their interest in music was initially motivated by parties and drugs and alcohol.
