2. His mother ran a dance studio Denise Walls Dance Energy where he began training at the age of 3 and attended several conventions.
3. Travis began his professional dance career when he got a chance to appear in a Dr. Pepper commercial at age 9.
4. He went on to win Junior National Outstanding Dancer Scholarship in 1999.
5. As a 12-year-old, he began a two-year run in the April 27, 2000 Broadway musical The Music Man , playing a River City/Winthrop Paroo resident. After his performance, he was selected for the closing gala of the New York Dance Alliance in the same year.
6. In 2006 he was named Teen Outstanding Dancer of the Year by the New York City Dance Alliance and toured with them for a year.
7. He received recognition in 2006 when he took part in the second season of the dance reality show So You Think You Can Dance (SYTYCD) and took second place at the age of 18 and was recognized by the judges as the most technically talented dancer on the show praised.
