McCool then worked as a reporter and anchor for WSYX-TV (ABC affiliate Virtual Channel 6) and WTTE-TV (Fox affiliate Television station) in Ohio. He also served in the state capital for WICU-TV (NBA Affiliate Television Station)
In May 2000, McCool joined Fox 8 News again as a general assignment reporter. She played an effective and efficient role in establishing Fox 8’s Summit/Akron County bureau at Summit Mall. She also co-anchored the 5,6 and 10 pm newscasts with Bill Martin and Lou Maglio .
