Early Life and Education

Born Oluwatosin Abiodun Ashaolu, Tosin SOG hails from Iloffa, Kwara State, Nigeria. He was born on January 3, 1989, as the second out of four children- he has two sisters and a brother.

Although he currently resides in Abuja, SOG attended St. Charles School in Ilorin, Kwara State where he was born and brought up. After his secondary education, he studied Chemical Engineering at the Federal University of Technology, Minna.

Musical Career

SOG’s musical career began in 2003 when he was part of an Acapella group with a few other friends in secondary school. He, however, did not start off as a “church boy” as some think. According to him, it was the love of music that drew him to church even though he started off “in the world”.

Tosin has since risen to have a phenomenal and innovative style of music which has led to tremendous success in his career over the years. He has shared several stages with other top Gospel ministers within Nigeria like Moses Bliss and Prosper Ochiamana. Some of the instruments he plays are Bass guitar, Keyboard, and drums.

The 33-year-old deacon has served as a parish choir leader/Music director, Area Choir leader, and Zonal music director in a local assembly in Nigeria where he is committed.

He is the convener of “WORSHIP CAFE”, an interdenominational worship meeting held occasionally in Nigeria. It is equally a ministry founded by him. As a Ministry, the body is involved in community development projects. They equally connect people with help in areas like talent management, social skills, and mentorship among others.

Expressing his passion for the body of Christ, SOG hosts online sessions with gospel artists across various genres. The sessions are aimed at helping fellow music ministers grow by sharing stories and knowledge.
