Biography
Nigeria’s top media Mogul, Mo Abudu was born in Hammersmith West London. Her father was an engineer and her mother was a caterer. Her family roots are in Ondo Town, southwest Nigeria and she is the eldest of the three sisters in the family. At 7 years old, she returned to Nigeria to live with her grandparents and returned to England at 11
Abudu attended Ridgeway School, Midkent College, and West Kent College. She has a Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management from the University of Westminster in London. Abudu is currently a member of the British Psychological Society with qualifications in occupational and personality testing.
In 2014 she received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters (Honouris Causa) from Babcock University.
Additionally, she received an award of honorary Doctor of Arts in recognition of her contributions in the broadcasting industry by the University of Westminster.
Early Years
Mo Abudu’s early years were spent mainly in the UK, where she was born and raised. Abudu worked her way through college, attending Ridgeway School, Mid Kent College, and West Kent.
Mosunmola went on to receive an MA in Human Resources Development from the University of Westminster in London.
Mo is the eldest of three sisters and her family roots are in Ondo Town, in the south-west of Nigeria. She lost her father at the age of 11. Forbes Africa recognized Abudu as the first African woman to own a Pan-Africa TV channel (2013).
At age 19, she was selected to be the brand ambassador for AVON Cosmetics for the African market. She was conferred with an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters (Honoris Causa) by Babcock University in 2014.
Mo Abudu’s Career
She started her professional career as a recruitment consultant in 1987 with the Atlas Recruitment Consultancy firm in the UK, from where she moved to Starform Group in 1990 and returned to Nigeria in 1993 and was head-hunted by Arthur Andersen to head the Human Resources and Training for the oil giant, ExxonMobil.
Vic Lawrence & Associate Limited was founded by her. Later, she started a television station (Ebony Life TV), created, produced, and hosted Moments with Mo, and has continued to develop entertainment materials to this day.

Personal Life
Mo Abudu is married to Tokunbo Abudu, and the marriage is blessed with two children, Temidayo Abudu (daughter) and Adekoyejo Abudu (son). She once separated from her husband due to irreconcilable differences, but they came back together after their daughter’s wedding in 2019.
