The death of the popular Jagbajantis crooner, Sound Sultan came with mixed feelings to Nigerians home and in the diaspora. More so, the 44 years old lost it to his battle with cancer of the throat.

The singer was one of the top musicians and songwriters ever to grace the music industry in Nigeria.

There are some of his songs that will remain evergreen in the country, as some of the songs apply to the current situation in the country.

1. Mathematics {Jangbanjantis}:

Soundsulatan jangbanjantis song was his debut in his music career, released in 2000. The song became a hit instantly all over Nigeria as he criticised the government and proffered solutions to some of the issues in the country.

2. Motherland

Sound Sultan released Motherland in the early 2000s. He was later to remix the single with soul singer, Johnny Drille’ in June 2020. The song called on people who have migrated from their motherland not to forget where they are from.

3. Natural Something

The song is the first track on the mixtape “The Rebirth” which he released in October 2012.

Natural Something is a song that talked about the length Sound Sultan would go to get a woman and he delivered the track with humour.

4. Ole ft Tuface

This song was released in 2011 from his album titled Bushmeat. The song featured veteran singer, Tuface and it spoke about the day people would turn around to ask for their rights.

5. Hello Baale

Sound Sultan is dropped ‘Hello Baale’ in 2016 off his ‘Out of the Box’ album. The song was produced by Cobhams Asuquo and the video was directed by Kemi Adetiba.

6. Kokose( Ft Wizkid)

On Kokose, Sound Sultan teamed up with Nigerian music sensation, Wizkid, to deliver classic and new-age urban Nigerian music. The song was off Sound Sultan’s 6th Studio album ‘Me My Mouth and Eye’ and was released in 2014.
