Top 10 Nigerian State with the Highest Internally Generated Revenue
Here is a list of the top 10 Nigerian States with the highest internal revenue generated.
The 36 States in Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory generated a sum of N1.31 trillion as internally generated revenue (IGR) in 2020. The Internal generated revenue however declined by 1.93% compared to the  N1.33 trillion, generated in 2019.
The decline was due to the effects of the covid-19 pandemic on the various states of the federation, as they were forced to implement lockdown protocols to curb the spread of the disease in the country.
So here is the Top 10 Nigerian State with the Highest Internal Generated Revenue
1. Lagos State
Lagos State among other states generated the highest Internal Revenue in 2020 they generated a sum of N418.99 billion. which represents 32.08 percent of the total IGR of N1.31 trillion generated by all the states in the country.
2. Rivers State
River State generated a sum of N117.19bn in 2020 which accounted for 8.97 percent of the total revenue generated.
3. FCT
The Federal Capital Territory generated a sum of N92.06 billion with a share of 7.05 percent of the total revenue generated.
4. Delta State
Delta State generated a sum of N59.73 billion. 4.57 percent of the total revenue generated.
5. Kaduna State
Kaduna State generated a total of  N50.77 billion, which account for 3.89 percent of total revenue generated by the states in Nigeria.
6. Ogun State
Ogun State with a population of over 4 million people was a little bit behind Kaduna as they generated the sum of N50.75 billion which is about %3.89 of the entire revenue generated in the Country.
6. Oyo State
Oyo State, the third southwestern state on the list generated the sum of N38.04 billion which accounts for  2.91 percent of the entire revenue generated in the country.
7. Kano State
Kano State which is the most populated State in the country generated a sum of N31.82 billion, which accounts for 2.44 percent of the total States revenge generated in the Country.
8. Akwa Ibom State
Awka Ibom with N30.70 billion had 2.32 percent of the total reven=ues generated in the states in 2020
9. Anambra State
Anambra had 2.14 percent after generating N28.01 billion in 2020.
10. Edo State
Edo generated N27.18 billion making up 2.08 percent of the total amount generated.
