He has also tried MMA workouts. For his MMA workouts, he heads to Athletic Gaines’ gym in West Hollywood. And his typical MMA workout starts with a rollout, where his muscles open up for the workout. This is followed by lower body work that uses resistance bands. The next part of the training is punching and kicking, accompanied by light sparring.

- As an adult he was an altar boy. He even managed to learn the Catholic Mass in Latin.
- He is a big fan of Transcendental Meditation and has been practicing it for more than 3 decades. He even meditates in his dressing room during the live show, between dress rehearsals and before each Dancing With the Stars broadcast.
- Despite having hosted Dancing With the Stars for more than 12 years, he has only seen a single episode of the show. He’s only watched half a dozen of the Funniest Home Videos episodes in America, despite having hosted them for around 15 years.
- During his childhood he enjoyed collecting comics. However, when he was 16, he decided to sell his entire collection for $20 to feel more mature.
- At the beginning of his career he worked as a pantomime.
- Tom’s public speaking teacher, Ed Johnson, at the school was an influential figure who launched his career. He introduced Tom Ed Cetlin, owner of a 1,000 watt radio station in Haverhill. Cetlin gave him his early breaks.
