The presidential campaign committee for the All Progressives Congress, APC has stated that Bola Tinubu’s public blunders and mistakes are modest and shouldn’t be highlighted.

The APC council observed that some Nigerians picking on the mistakes and making them current issues demonstrated “the lack of seriousness.”

In an interview with PUNCH, the Director of Media and Publicity for the APC campaign council, Bayo Onanuga, made this claim while pointing out that opposition candidates also committed mistakes.

Last week, RNN reported that Tinubu is infamous for giving rambling speeches and making a number of mistakes. Speaking at the APC presidential campaign rally in Lagos State, Tinubu urged his supporters to obtain their “APV”s rather than PVCs, the Permanent Voters Card’s abbreviation.

In the trending video, the former Lagos governor was not able to correct himself as he proceeded to mention “APC” instead of PVC.

“Do you love me? Do you love me? Go and take your APV…APC and you must vote,” Tinubu said.

While reacting, Onanuga said, “What people call a gaffe here is incorrect. What’s the big deal in having someone who wanted to call APC or PDP but ended up calling something else?

Tinubu even corrected himself on each of these small mistakes. Even younger politicians took such action, such as Daniel Bwala, the PDP’s spokesperson. He appeared in a video talking about the APC when he meant to mention the PDP. When he urged the people of Borno to support the APC, Dino Melaye followed suit.

And he never once said it. He recited it repeatedly.

“I have a problem when people pick a minor issue and amplify it as if it is bigger than it is. It only shows the lack of seriousness of such people. I am not left in these slips. I commit to them almost every day.

“The man spoke about other things as well. He talked about how the PDP looted the treasury and had nothing to show after 16 years of governance. But they are more concerned about his slips. It shows Nigerians that these people are more interested in chasing shadows than substance.”

When speaking to his fans at most of his recent presidential rallies, the APC presidential candidate made a number of mistakes.

In an attempt to defend his refusal to participate in town hall meetings and discussions held in Owerri by media organizations, Tinubu managed to pronounce the illegible phrase “Balabloo-blu-bulava.”

To the dismay of his audience, he had whispered, “A town hall, different from “balabloo-blu-bulava.”

Meanwhile, the Chief Whip of the Senate and Senator representing Abia North in the 9th Senate, Orji Uzor Kalu has said that the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu was never denied a US visa as speculated.

Kalu who took to his Facebook on Saturday to refute the report attributed the development to the handiwork of the opposition.

Dismissing the report as fake news, Kalu said that Tinubu postponed his trip to the United States, informing that the information available to him from the Department of State was that the presidential candidate will be received in the country in the third week of December.

He said “As the election draws closer, the opposition will spread more fake news against our presidential candidate but we should always ignore and keep our eyes on the ball.

“The news that Tinubu was denied a visa to the USA is as fake as other fake news. Tinubu postponed the travel himself and was never denied a visa.

“The State Department of the US confirmed to me that Tinubu will be received in the third week of December.

*As the presidential candidate of our party with an outstanding personality, he will be warmly welcomed in the United States”.
