Former Deputy Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Bode George, recently praised President Bola Tinubu’s early performance in his administration, stating that it was better than his tenure as Lagos State governor. George made these comments during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today program. When asked to rate Tinubu’s performance in his first three weeks as President, George said it was too early to provide a definitive rating but acknowledged that it was reasonable and an improvement compared to Tinubu’s time in Lagos.
Furthermore, he mentioned that he would seek permission from the PDP if approached by the President to work together for the benefit of the country, emphasizing that he is not an enemy of Tinubu despite their historical political rivalry. George highlighted their differences in management styles and expressed confidence in the PDP’s candidate, Atiku Abubakar, winning the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal. Lastly, Chief Bode George, concluded by stating that they would respect the outcome of the judiciary process and pray for Nigeria if the court declared Abubakar as the President.
