President Bola Tinubu is currently holding a meeting with former Niger Delta agitator, Asari Dokubo, at the State House in Abuja. Dokubo arrived at the Aso Rock Villa around 11:00 am and went into a closed-door session with the President. It is worth noting that since the inauguration of the president, he has been meeting with different dignitaries, stakeholders, and institutional bodies at all levels. Additionally, just less than 24 hours ago, Gen Abubakar Abdusalam, the former head of state also made a courtesy
Just three weeks ago, Dokubo had organized Niger Delta youths to attend the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Abuja. As a staunch supporter of Tinubu, he publicly called on Nigerians to hold the President accountable if his administration fails.
During a discussion about the discontinuation of fuel subsidies, Dokubo emphasized that previous presidents, Goodluck Jonathan, and Muhammadu Buhari, were unable to achieve what Tinubu has accomplished in the past few weeks of his administration.
Dokubo in his word stated, “If Ahmed Bola Tinubu fails, hold me responsible. I am unapologetic. I have known him since 1992 and I truly understand his values. I can confidently bridge the gap between him and the people and take responsibility for this statement. This is a step that my brother Goodluck failed to take when he had the opportunity. It’s also a step that Buhari couldn’t take, but Tinubu has already taken it from his first day in office.”
