Tina Fey
She has a sharp tongue, as funny as it is sibylline, although sometimes it is no more than a defense against the world… And it is clear that her intelligence and charm are responsible for her becoming a star at the edge of 40.
It’s not very common for a woman (especially a screenwriter-turned-actress) to succeed past her youth and do it in a big way. And what does Tina Fey have that makes her different from the rest of the Hollywood crowd? She is probably one of the sharpest and most likeable female minds in show business. At first there doesn’t seem to be anything special about her way of being, but behind those horn-rimmed glasses, that face of a young mother, those fine lips and that gesture of hers so full of doubt and insecurity, so well intentioned, behind that façade, I say, hides a woman of great intelligence and who has an excellent gift for writing and pronouncing dialogues full of humor and self-confidence. This is how she has shown it specifically in the role of her who has made her a world celebrity, that of Liz Lemon,Rockefeller Plaza . The leap from television to cinema has never been so meteoric.
Elizabeth Stamatina Fey was born on May 18, 1970 in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. She has a brother eight years older and is the daughter of Donald and Jeannec, who have German, Scottish and Greek ancestry. She herself maintains that in her school years she was a nerd (she beats him a lot, really) and then she decided to study dramatic art at the University of Virginia, where she graduated in 1992. She then moved to Chicago to start a business. her professional life. During the day she worked in a YMCA (Youth Christian Association) and in the evenings she attended courses in The Second City. It was during this time that she met her husband, Jeff Richmond ., whom he married in 2001 and with whom he has a daughter, Alice Zenobia. Her big professional break came in 1995, when she was recommended to join the writing staff of the famous television show “Saturday Night Live”, started in the distant year of 1975. Tina wrote a 10-page test and a week later she had the position . It was clear that the girl was beginning to stand out: she was 25 years old and she was the only creative woman on the show.
Five years later, already well-seasoned in her work, she increased her prestige when she was chosen as the first writer of the TV movie that commemorated the 25th anniversary of the show, on Saturday Night Live 25 . She was the first woman to do so in the entire history of the show. And she also made her debut as an interpreter in that 25th season. And then, little by little, she would enter the world of cinema. In 2002 she made a brief cameo appearance in the comedy Martin & Orloff , and in 2004 she kept up the good work as a high school teacher in the teen comedy Mean Girls , which starred Lindsay Lohan and Rachel McAdams . She then came to her moment of glory, when she launched into the production of the ‘sitcom’Rockefeller Plaza , which he also writes and stars in. As is known, the series narrates the vicissitudes of the working life of Liz Lemon, the head writer of a television program on NBC. The series focuses mainly on her peculiar relationships with her boss Jack Donaghy, played by a hilarious Alec Baldwin . You don’t have to be very perceptive to realize that Tina Fey is writing the series based on her own experiences as a writer for years on the show “Saturday Night Live.” The NBC series is going from strength to strength, since in addition to announcing the 5th season, it is one of the most awarded television series in history. Among the numerous awards, the 3 Emmys and the two Golden Globes for Tina Fey, and the three Golden Globes for Alec Baldwin stand out.
And while her adventures as Liz Lemon continue, Tina Fey continues to swell little by little more important film productions. She thus starred in the comedy Baby Mama (2008), along with her friend Amy Poehler and she was part of the funniest cast of Incredible, but false (2009), starring another prestigious comedian Ricky Gervais . The last thing she has released has been the crazy comedy Crazy Night (2010), in which she is married to Steve Carell and with which she has achieved great success in the United States.
