1. Tim’s parents first met when they were students at the University of Florida. They married on June 12, 1971.
2. In 1985, the Tebow family moved to the Philippines, where they worked as Baptist missionaries.
3. Tim’s mother, Pamela, suffered from an inflammation of the intestines called dysentery, from which she fell into a coma. While recovering from the illness, she discovered that she was pregnant. Because of the medication she was taking, the fetus suffered from a placental abruption. Doctors suggested that the mother should abort the child’s birth. However, the Tebow family was anti-abortion and Tim was born on August 14, 1987 in Manila, Philippines.
4. He was drafted by the Denver Broncos as the 10th pick in the 2010 NFL Draft.
5. While playing quarterback for Allen D. Nease High School , earned All-State honors and was named Florida Player of the Year. He was also selected as Mr. Football in Florida and even Parade magazine’s All-American High School.
