WHO IS TIMI EGBUSON

Timini Egbuson is a Nigerian actor, model and presenter; he was born in Bayelsa State Nigeria, born on the 12 of June 1987.

Timini is the younger brother to notable actress, Dakore Akande who he calls “aunty toh sure” He got his primary school education from Greenspring Montessori, The Afro School and St Catherine’s. He attended Adebayo Mokuolu College, Lagos State, he got his BSC in Psychology from the University of Lagos and he graduated in the year 2011. He started his acting career in 2010, on M-net’s soap opera Tinsel. Timini has acted in more than five movies in his career so far, he has featured in the following movies.

He became notable in 2013 after he played Tobi in the television series Shuga and did very well, he hosted GT Bank’s Fashion week red carpet alongside Sharon Ooja in 2017. Timini Egbuson won the Best Actor in a Drama at the 2020 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) for his role in the movie Elevator Baby.

CONTROVERSIES THAT SURROUND HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH LYDIA BALOGUN

Many Nigerians have been left shattered after Timini Egbuson was called all sorts of names on the social media platform. Names like “Predator”, “Cradle Snatcher”, “Sleeping with under-age girls”

A lady identified as Lydia Balogun, an ex-girlfriend of Timini Egbuson called him out on Twitter after their relationship of two years hits the rock.

She claimed Timini goes after young naive girls, adding that he is currently seeing an 18-year-old Babcock University student.

According to her, Timini is a predator, cradle snatcher, pervert and an “all-around terrible person.”

She said she was warned at the time but didn’t know anything about Timini or his past so she stood by him.

However, she said that while in the relationship, she experienced things that scarred her. She claimed that Timini used to tell her that no one could ever love her again and he slut-shamed her and also spoiled her name to people.

Timini, you have (and I mean this so literally) slept with everything breathing in Lagos and Abuja and you think for one second you can slut-shame me? It’s the irony for me.”

She added that older women who spoke against the age difference between her and Timini last year were called “bitter” and she knows most people will call her bitter for speaking up.

However, Timi Egbuson took to Snapchat reacts to the accusation laid on him

He said he is a “single adult man who has dated women of different ages” and that all of them were “older than the legal consenting age”, which is 18 years old.

According to her, he and Lydia dated for two years and they were both consenting adults at the time and their “families knew and approved of each other.”

He explained that their relationship was “volatile” and didn’t work due to fault from both sides so they had to go their separate ways and he has since learned from it.

He added that he does not “condone having relationships or courting anyone under the age of consent”.

She went on to share screenshots of her message confronting Timini about him dating an 18-year-old and asking him to seek help.
