Theo Epstein is an American baseball executive and attorney, who is currently the President of Baseball Operations serving the Chicago Cubs of Major League Baseball. He also became the youngest general manager in MLB history.
Early age and education
Theo Epstein was born on December 29, 1973 in New York City while raised in Brookline, Massachusetts with his 60 second older twin brother Paul, who is a counselor at a high school in Brookline, MA.
Both brothers attended Brookline High School, where he played baseball for the Brookline High School Warriors. Theo has a sister also named Anya, who is a screenwriter.
Theo Epstein family members are full of talents and have achieved many accomplishments. Theo’s grandfather won academic awards for the screenplay for Casablanca along with his great-uncle Julius J. Epstein and Howard E. Koch.
During that time, Theo’s father, Leslie Epstein, who is a novelist, later became the director of the Creative Writing Program at Boston University.
