Born in Bilbao, she was born in 1972 and is the daughter of Txabi Villaberde, one of the pioneers of pop and rock , being the first musician to have an electric guitar in Bilbao. You have to go back to 1959 for that moment, in which she began her artistic career. Her father was the leader of two of the first Basque groups.

BEGINNINGS AWAY FROM MUSIC

Before becoming known in music, Ana Fernández Villaverde, her real name, started her professional life as a painter and illustrator, which made her have a close relationship with the song. At various times he crossed paths with her in her life, to create artist covers, but her Extremoduro compilation was her most media-ready work.

That close relationship with the song made him buy a guitar, although that was just a hobby. His friendship with Jota, singer of Los Planetas led him to start taking it with more dedication, from there he began to compose. In 2007 he recorded a first demo, which was chosen as the best of the year by Mondosonoro magazine .

In 2009 he published what was his first album. In ‘Romancero’, which was called that, enter the seven songs from her first demo and five new songs that were incorporated. The album is chosen as the best national album of 2009 by the most important alternative music magazines in Spain , which earned him a name on the scene.

His song ‘La Verdad’, which is included in his 2019 album ‘Brujería’, was chosen as one of the songs that were part of the soundtrack of the successful Netflix series ‘La casa de las flores’. In recent years he has been one of the regular names at major festivals such as Arenal Sound, Primavera Sound or Sonorama, among others .

LA BIEN QUERIDA AND NURIA ROCA ARE CLOSE FRIENDS

In her first step as a guest of ‘El Hormiguero’, the singer revealed that she has been a friend of Nuria for 20 years, so they are close friends and have shared great moments . Juan del Val, as the collaborator’s husband, confirmed that he is one of the people closest to his family and that he has been present at many times.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THAT NAME?

“I liked the name because I was looking for a popular name, there was a Mexican movie La malquerida  and  I thought that I wanted the opposite, that they liked me well,” she commented at her premiere as an interviewee for Pablo Motos.
