The Incredible Dr. Pol Cast, Production, Viewers, Complaints

The Incredible Dr. Pol is an American reality television show on Nat Geo Wild that follows Dutch-born veterinarian Jan Pol and his family and workers at his practice in rural Weidman, Michigan. Created in 2011, the show has two seasons each year for a total of 16 as of October 2019.

Jan Pol studied veterinary medicine at Utrecht University and graduated in 1970. Moved to Harbor Beach, Michigan, with his wife Diane, and Pol worked for over 10 years as a veterinarian. They then moved from their home in 1981 to Weidman, Michigan, where they opened their own practice, Pol Veterinary Services. Also, its focus changed from large animals to a combination of small animals. Emergencies account for a large portion of the practice due to the lack of emergency animal care clinics in this rural area.

Diane Pol met Jan Pol at Mayville High School in 1961, when he was a foreign exchange student. She holds a master’s degree in special reading and was an instructor at Harbor Beach Elementary Schools. As a result, for 50 years Diane and Jan were married. Charles Pol (Graduate from the University of Florida in Miami, 2003) Producer.

Pol is surprised that the show has become a hit “watched by everyone – all walks of life, all ages, great family show, and I think that’s what’s so fantastic.” According to Pol Charles, he advised him: “Dad, do your job. It’s quite interesting. Don’t look at the camera, don’t do anything for the camera. ‘ Pol continues. ”… It’s not scripted; it’s real.

In 2012, a disciplinary board placed Dr. Pol on probation for negligence and incompetence. Nonetheless, his activities were the subject of numerous disciplinary proceedings and vets received a mixed reception for his performance. Another veterinarian states emphatically that the exhibit showcases antiquated veterinary practices, dating back over a quarter of a century; and thus gives a false impression of the profession.

Similarly, in 2013, Michigan House Speaker Kevin Cotter introduced Bill 5176, attempting to prohibit agencies from investigating allegations of wrongdoing or complaints based on information obtained by watching a television broadcast. “Dr Pol advocated for the bill.

Complaints

The Court of Appeal quashed and remanded in 2016, stating, among other things, that there was no nuanced evidence that the standard of care had been breached. However, proponents of the decision relied on notions of due process, including the vagueness of the claim, the lack of an objective and consistent legal standard, and the inconsistency of the evidence presented by the charges brought.

Nonetheless, after the dismissal, in another undisclosed decision, the Michigan Court of Appeals wrote a lengthy opinion in late 2019 that upheld the lower judgments that imposed discipline.
