“The arrest was a product of job hazard” – Comedian, Pankeeroy reveals after release from EFCC custody
Popular Instagram comedian Nwagbo Oliver Chidera better known as Pankeeroy has been released, following his arrest by EFCC over alleged internet fraud.
Popular Instagram comedian Nwagbo Oliver Chidera better known as Pankeeroy has been released, following his arrest by EFCC over alleged internet fraud.
It was earlier reported in Aprilthat Operatives of the Lagos Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, arrested the comedian, alongside 34 others for their alleged involvement in computer-related fraud in Lagos.
The comedian however posted his official press release by legal team on instagram page, after spending 5 weeks in EFCC custody.
The comedian via his legal team promised to detailed account of the arrest to the comedian clients and the fan base,
They also stated that there was no form of petition against the comedian which implies that no crime was commited by the comedian against any person, company or establishment.
The firm astted that the comedian was released as there was no form of lexus linking him to the investigated crime.
“Upon questioning and facts finding by officers of the Commission, our Client was released as there was no form of nexus linking him to the purported commission of the investigated crime. The positions of the Federal Government and its agencies are clear on Digital Currency and as such hampers various levels of growth and development in the economic and digital space’.
‘However, this call to Notice is necessary to clear the air and further repose the long term confidence of fans, friends, family members, and Business Associates of our Client that on no occasion was our Client indicted of any crime/offense and as such, the arrest was a product of Job Hazard.” The statement wrote in parts
The comedian however promised to take legal steps against media houses, and person who spread out fake news concerning the arrest.
