1. Calvin Harris ($66 million)

One of the most adorable men to have been in the world, Calvin Harris is the highest paid DJ for stealing Taylor Swift’s heart. He keeps the cash registers ringing and earns around $66 million to take the top spot on the Forbes list. His earnings came from shows, music festivals, club parties and from his Giorgio Armani brand promotion. The 31-year-old Scot is not only a DJ, but also a record producer, singer and writer. He owns a record label Flight Eye Records . He released a single How Strong Is Your Love in July 2015 which topped the UK Singles Chart.

2. David Guetta ($37 million)

The second name on the list is no surprise either, as David Guetta had a great year with over 30 shows in Las Vegas. It is a sensation on the South American and European markets. The 47-year-old French DJ is one of the best EDM artists of recent times and his When Love Takes Over topped the Billboard charts in 2015. He has worked with Lady Gaga, Britney Spears and Nicki Minaj and has sold over nine million albums and 30 million singles to date and there is no doubt he has made $37 million this year.

3. Tiësto ($36 million)

He was there a long time and still didn’t let go, proving to be one of the strongest contenders in the world of DJing. His earnings of $36 million in 2015 can benefit his incredible fees for playing in a nightclub and his brand endorsement at Guess and 7UP. The 46-year-old Dutch DJ and record producer has his own label, Black Hole Recordings . He also has a Grammy for remixing John Legend’s All of Me . He is considered one of the most expensive DJs in the world.

4. Skrillex ($24 million)

Earning a spot in Forbes’ richest people under 30 list earlier this year, Sonny JohnMoore, or Skrillex as he’s popularly known, is another anticipated name on that list. The American singer, electronic music producer and DJ is only 27 years old but he’s managed to make over $24 million this year by playing shows of nearly 100. He made a famous duo with Diplo called Jack U. . He hasn’t released a single this year and has won six Grammy Awards so far. This sure is great for the man who is known for his crazy hairstyle.

4. Steve Aoki ($24 million)

He is another DJ known for his stage performances. He’s done more than 200 shows this year and while that’s fewer than the shows he’s done last year, it’s brought him better earnings. The 37-year-old American electro house musician and music executive has his own label called Dim Mak . Steve’s brand endorsements for Bud Light and Guitar Center also contribute to his $24 million earnings this year. Tracks from his album Future Neon will be part of the horror thriller film The Hive (2015).

6. Avicii ($19 million)

Earning $19 million from his performances in clubs and shows, Avicii is a Swedish DJ and record producer who is still coining dollars for his Wake Me Up Haunted By Tears album, which has also become the most-streamed track on Spotify. His next album Stories is currently causing a stir and he announced Stories Megamix on Spotify in September 2015 to a phenomenal response. He is also on the list of the richest people under 30 released by Forbes earlier this year.

7. Cascade ($18 million)

Seventh on the list is Ryan Raddon, or Cascade as he’s popularly known. The 44-year-old American DJ and record producer has earned $18 million thanks to his Warner Bros contract and individual stage performances. He was voted America’s Best DJ in 2011 and 2013. His single 4am was featured in Grand Theft Auto V and is one of the best selling DJs at music festivals. He was also included in the list of the highest paid DJs of 2014.

8. Martin Garrix ($17 million)

Knocking down everyone else is 19-year-old SuperMartin Garrix, who made this list with combined earnings of $17 million. In the last 12 months, the Dutch DJ and producer has done over 115 shows and his earnings are also due to his brand promotion at 7UP. His most famous track is Animals which topped the music charts in many countries. DJ Magazine currently ranks him #4 and the teenage crowd is crazy about him. Tiesto is his inspiration and the two also collaborated on The Only Way is Up .

8. Zedd ($17 million)

Another youngster on the block is Anton Zaslavski, or Zedd (that he’s known as). The 26-year-old Russian-German DJ and music producer is a sensation on stage with 17 million dollars. His second album True Colors was among the top 5 albums on Billboard in 2014 and his single featuring Selena Gomez helped him stay at the top. The Grammy winner is currently touring in Asia, North America and Europe making huge bucks.

10. Afrojack ($16 million)

Known for his 6ft 9in physique, the 28-year-old Dutch DJ made this list by Forbes by earning $16 million. His club performances and festival popularity have served him well, and he is popular for mixing across genres. He debuted in 2014 with Forget the World which featured Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa. He also worked with David Guetta on Hey Mama, which also stars Nicki Minaj. He is also known for dating Paris Hilton for half a year.

11. Deadmau5 ($15 million)

The 34-year-old Canadian DJ and music producer ranks at number 11 on this list, and his $15 million in earnings can be attributed to his shows and seven-figure music festival fees. He only did 30 shows last year as he believes in quality over quantity. The DJ has six Grammy nominations and is the highest-paid artist in the EDM world. His music has been featured in a number of video games like The Sims 3, FIFA 13, Wipeout 2048, GoldenEye 007 and many more.

11. Diplo ($15 million)

This 36-year-old American DJ, record producer, rapper and singer has earned $15 million and is ranked #12 on the list. His biggest credit is the huge fee he charges for his live shows and he has done around 100 to make this list. He co-produced many tracks from Madonna’s Rebel Heart album in 2015 and has worked with the likes of Skrillex, Britney Spears, Justin Bieber, Shakira, Beyonce and many others throughout his career. He has done many shows in the US and is popular on Los Angeles 98.7 FM every Sunday at 9pm.

Near misses

There are many other EDM artists making millions, but they still haven’t made the top 12 highest paid DJs. Those who lost marginally include Alesso, Nervo, DJ Snake, Steve Angello, Axwell, Hardwell, Krewella and several other household names who light fires at music festivals and their own performances. The list includes many names younger than 30 years old and that is a very positive sign for this booming industry that is growing by the day.
