Tessa Virtue is a Canadian ice dancer known for being the best ice dancer of her generation. Their partnership with Scott, spanning more than two decades, was one of the most successful in skating history as there is no championship or event they have not dominated. Being the youngest couple to win the Olympic title, they haven’t looked back. Tessa Virtue works hard at the gym to ensure she keeps turning out stunning performances at the rink. She spends about 4 hours every day ice training. She also dedicates 2 hours to work in the gym. In addition to her daily training, she devotes an hour to physiotherapy, osteopathy, massage and fascia stretch therapy.
She has hired a naturopath and nutritionist to ensure she can complement her exercise and fitness work in the best possible way. She focuses on eating lots of protein and vegetables. However, she does not believe in depriving herself. She believes she can indulge herself as long as she eats in moderation.

- As a young girl, she excelled in ballet. However, at the age of 9, she decided to turn down an offer to join the National Ballet School as she wanted to focus solely on ice skating.
- In 2003 she moved to Canton, Michigan to begin training under the tutelage of Igor Shpilband and Marina Zueva. She finally moved back to her hometown in 2014 after the Olympia event.
- In 1997 she started skating with Scott Moir. They were paired by his aunt, Carol Moir, who was her trainer at the time.
- In 2008, she and Moir were forced to withdraw from Grand Prix events after she was diagnosed with chronic stress compartment syndrome. In October 2008, she had to undergo surgery to take care of her condition.
- Tessa and Scott achieved the distinction of becoming the first Canadian ice dancers to win the World Junior Championships award in 2006.
- In 2008, she and Scott won their first Canadian league title, which helped them earn a spot at the Four Continents . At the subsequent Four Continents events, they managed to win the gold medal.
- In October 2015, she launched her exclusive range of jewelry in collaboration with Hillberg & Berk .
- She and Scott stand out as the first team to win an Olympic gold medal in the dance category in their debut. They were also the first team from North America to win an Olympic gold medal.
