Teri Hatcher was born as Teri Lynn Hatcher on December 8, 1964 in Palo Alto, California, United States. She is the daughter of Esther Beshur and Hatcher Owen Walker . Her father Esther was a computer programmer working for Lockheed Martin and her mother Walker Hatcher was a nuclear physicist and electrical engineer. Her father is of English, Welsh and Irish descent, and her mother is of half Syrian, half Czech and Irish descent. She grew up with her family in Palo Alto, California.
During his childhood, Hatcher used to dance and go fishing with his father. She learned to dance ballet in Los Altos at the San Juan dance school. She grew up in California and attended various schools in Sunnyvale including Mango Junior High (now Sunnyvale Middle School) and Fremont High School.
After his studies, Hatcher went on to study mathematics and engineering at De Anza College in Cupertino.
Hatcher said in March 2006 that she had been sexually abused by her uncle. Richard Hayes Stone from the age of five, who was later divorced by her aunt. She claimed that her parents had no information about her abuse. Later in 2002, she helped Santa Clara County and its prosecutors file a case against Stone for more recent abuse that led to the 11-year-old female victim’s death by suicide.
Stone received a sentence of 14 years in prison for the sexual exploitation of four children. She died while incarcerated from colon cancer after serving 6 years in jail.
