The special adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina has urged the Nigerian journalists to tell the country’s stories positively.

While been represented by Prof. Venatius Agbanu, at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State during the 25th anniversary of the Department of Mass Communication of the University, as its keynote speaker, Adesina said: “We know how much Hollywood has told the American story. It has totally shaped people’s understanding of America.

“For us journalists, the story is ours to tell, and I urge you to use your practice to tell Nigeria’s story positively. The young ones who are still studying to become journalists must be taught the responsibility that awaits them when they begin their practice.”

Meanwhile, in another news, the United States Mission to Nigeria has advised its citizens in the country to avoid the June 12, 2021 protests which will take place on Saturday in several parts of the country.

The US said this in an advisory on Friday titled, ‘Demonstration Alert: US Mission Nigeria (June 11, 2021) – Nationwide Protests on Democracy Day.’
