Taylor Lautner

Born on February 11, 1992, in Grand Rapids, a city in Michigan (USA), Taylor Daniel Lautner has a very peculiar physique, a mixture of his French, German and Dutch heritage. In addition, on his mother’s side, he is descended from Native American Indians, specifically from the Potawatomi and Ottawa tribes.

Passionate about martial arts, Taylor began teaching karate classes from the age of six. Immediately he began to win gold medals on behalf of his country, in various championships. It was his martial arts coach who realized his potential in show business, and encouraged him to go to a casting call to star in an advertisement for a restaurant chain. Although he was not chosen, he liked the experience so much that he decided to keep going to all possible tests. When he was 10 years old, the whole family came to move to Los Angeles, so that the boy had the opportunity to succeed in the movie mecca.

Finally, they gave him the opportunity to debut with a very minor role in the mediocre action film  Shadow Fury . He was also an extra in some television series, until Robert Rodriguez gave him the leading role in  The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl , from 2006, a family film in 3D, although he was seen with red and blue glasses, from the system prior to that of  Avatar . There he was able to show off his martial arts skills playing Sharkboy, a boy raised by sharks who, with the help of his friends, must save the world from the hands of the evil Mr. Electricity.

Although he played the son of the rival of the protagonists in  12 Out and About , and starred with Christian Slater in the series My Own Worst Enemy , which was immediately canceled due to lack of audience, Taylor Lautner got his chance when he was chosen to play Jacob Black, werewolf and childhood friend of Bella Swan, the protagonist of  Twilight , adaptation of the bestselling novel by Stephenie Meyer . And although initially those who became most famous in the saga were Kristen Stewart and especially Robert Pattinson , Lautner’s character gained a lot of prominence in  New Moon, when he deepened his relationship with Bella, in the absence of the vampire played by Pattinson. 

He was already one of the highest-paid actors in Hollywood when he starred in  Eclipse , the third part, where Edward wondered if Lautner’s character was shirtless, due to his recurring bare-chested appearances. He humorously took all this in the choral comedy  Historias de San Valentin , where he was a boy so shy that he couldn’t take his shirt off in public. At the time, it was rumored that he was in a relationship with co-star Taylor Swift , though he never confirmed that they were together. He has also been associated with other young women such as Selena Gomez , star of the Disney Channel series  The Wizards of Waverly Place .
