Tamlyn Tomita is the Japanese-American actress who is famous for her role in the movie ‘Karate Kid Part’ II. Tomita also made an appearance in the movie ‘Come to See the Paradise’, where she played the lead role. She got involved in other movies like ‘Tekken’, ‘Four Rooms’ and these movies were a huge success.

TAMLYN TOMITA: EARLY CHILDHOOD AND EDUCATION
Tamlyn Naomi Tomita was born on January 27, 1966. The Japanese-born child was born to parents Shiro and Asako. Her father was a sergeant with the LA Police Department. While at the department, he served for the first Asian task force.
For her education, Tamlyn went to Granada Hills High School in the San Fernando Valley in the same city. After graduating from high school, she enrolled at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with a major in history.
Growing up, Tomita was a beautiful young woman with an interest in show business. So, in 1984, she was able to win the title of queen at the Nisei Week Pageant in Los Angeles. Next year she was able to receive the title of Miss Nikkei International. After some relative success, Tamlyn continued to release her single and even her album.
TAMLYN TOMITA: CAREER
Tomita made her acting debut for the 1986 martial arts drama film “The Karate Kid Part II” where she was one of the main characters. The famous film was directed by John G Avildsen. The film was a huge commercial success, just like its predecessor. Then, after almost 4 years, she got a chance to play the female lead in the drama film ‘Come to See the Paradise’. Unlike Karate Kid, this film was a disaster from a commercial standpoint, but his performance nonetheless received critical acclaim.
She was then in the movie ‘The Joy Luck Club’ (1993), and the director was Wayne Wang. The film was able to earn about three times its budget and pushed Tomita to great heights. The film was about the relationship between Chinese-American women and their mothers.
Tamlyn Tomita has also worked in the television industry and her television work includes a recurring role on the television series “Santa Barbara”. The late 1980s show was a huge hit and won multiple Emmy Awards. Throughout his career, Tomita has starred in many different TV shows. She, however, appeared as a guest supporting actress.
