T amer Hosny (in Arabic: تامر حسني) he was born on August 16, 1977, is an Egyptian singer-songwriter and actor, nicknamed the king of the generation. He is currently one of the best known artists in Egypt and the Arab world. Tamer was first featured on Free Mixes by FreeMusic, an Egyptian music production company. His enthusiasm, hard work and passion for music and theater made him, in five years, the most promising singer in the Middle East and Africa. His musical masterpiece is magical. As a high profile personality, Tamer was chosen to be the Middle East Ambassador for Operation Smile Int’l Organization since 2006. He is a Pepsi endorser. He was the “first Arab celebrity” to advertise the famous Police sunglasses brand , and he supports Vodafone , a well-known communication network in the world. Tamer Hosny was also selected as the best actor in 2011.

Little known facts

• Tamer Hosny grew up with a passion for football and said he played it professionally for 9 years.
• Tamer worked in the first years of his life in a gas station and a supermarket, selling perfumes on the street, and also worked as a construction worker.
• In 2006, Hosny was involved in a trial in which he was accused of forging a passport and avoiding conscription. It was a widely publicized case in the media, as he and fellow Egyptian Haytham Shaker were both convicted on the same charges.
• Tamer Hosny was sentenced to one year imprisonment, but the judgment did not take into account the age of the tamer and his famous position among young people. Thus, he only spent a month in prison before deciding. So he was sent to spend 1 year in the army for conscription.
