  • Tinubu Floors Sole Challenger as APC Direct Primary Produces Massive Ward Victories

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has recorded massive victories across multiple wards nationwide in the ongoing presidential primary of All Progressives Congress.

The direct primary exercise, held across the country’s 8,809 wards on Saturday, saw Tinubu dominate early results against his sole challenger, Stanley Osifo Osayamen.

    Massive Ward Results Emerge

Early tallies showed the president securing overwhelming support from party members in several states.

In his Ikoyi ward in Lagos State, Tinubu reportedly polled 4,996 votes, while Osayamen failed to record a single vote.

Similar results also emerged from parts of northern Nigeria, including a polling unit in Kebbi State where Tinubu reportedly secured 5,652 votes.

Party leaders and top government officials were also seen participating in the exercise, with APC supporters describing the turnout as a strong endorsement of Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.

    APC Members Celebrate Outcome

Many party faithful hailed the primary as proof of unity within the ruling party ahead of the 2027 general election.

Supporters also described the exercise as a grassroots validation of Tinubu’s leadership and economic policies despite growing criticism from opposition groups.

However, some critics online questioned the competitiveness of the process and raised concerns over the absence of strong opposition within the APC.

    Presidency Reacts

Reacting to the early results, the Presidency expressed appreciation to APC members nationwide for what it described as overwhelming support for the president.

In a statement issued by presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale, the Presidency described the outcome as “a resounding endorsement” of Tinubu’s leadership.

“The massive ward victories recorded by Mr. President today reaffirm the confidence of Nigerians in his ability to continue steering the country towards greater prosperity, security, and economic stability,” the statement read.

The Presidency also commended party members for conducting what it described as a peaceful exercise across the country.

    Final Declaration Expected

Final collation of results is expected to take place in Abuja on Sunday, with political observers already predicting Tinubu’s emergence as the APC presidential candidate for the 2027 election.
