  • PSG Retain Champions League Title After Penalty Shootout Heartbreak for Arsenal

Paris Saint-Germain have successfully defended their UEFA Champions League crown after defeating Arsenal 4-3 on penalties following a dramatic 1-1 draw in the 2026 final at the Puskás Aréna.

The victory gives PSG their second consecutive Champions League title and confirms their growing dominance in European football.

    Arsenal Strike First

The Gunners made a dream start when Kai Havertz fired Arsenal ahead in the sixth minute after being set up by Leandro Trossard. The early goal stunned PSG and handed Mikel Arteta’s side a crucial advantage.

Arsenal held their lead for much of the contest and looked on course to finally lift their first Champions League trophy.

    Dembélé Levels From The Spot

PSG found their breakthrough in the 65th minute after Arsenal defender Cristhian Mosquera was penalised for a challenge on Khvicha Kvaratskhelia inside the area.

Ousmane Dembélé stepped up and calmly converted the penalty to make it 1-1.

Despite chances at both ends, neither side could find a winner during normal time or extra time.

    Penalty Drama Decides The Trophy

The final eventually went to penalties, where PSG held their nerve.

Arsenal’s hopes suffered a major blow when defender Gabriel blasted his effort over the crossbar during the shootout. PSG converted enough spot-kicks to secure a 4-3 victory and retain the trophy.

Vitinha Named Man of the Match

PSG midfielder Vitinha was named Man of the Match after an influential display in the centre of the park.

The final was officiated by German referee Daniel Siebert in front of more than 61,000 spectators in Budapest.

    Historic Achievement For PSG

The triumph makes PSG the first French club to win back-to-back Champions League titles and further strengthens their status among Europe’s elite. They will now advance to the 2026 UEFA Super Cup and other major international competitions as continental champions.

For Arsenal, the defeat extends their wait for a first Champions League title and marks another painful final after their loss to Barcelona in 2006.

Nigerian pastor Adedolapo Lawal, popularly known as Pastor Dolapo or TheDolapoLawal and founder of Zoe Household Global Church, has organised a special thanksgiving service for Arsenal fans following backlash over his earlier comments about the English Premier League club.

The pastor made the move after a viral video of his previous remarks resurfaced online, where he was accused of suggesting that Arsenal would struggle to win major trophies.

“It was just banter, not a prophecy”

In a fresh video, Pastor Dolapo clarified that his comments were meant as light-hearted banter and not a spiritual declaration against the club.

“I was joking. I’m not cursing. God didn’t tell me something about Arsenal. It was just normal banter that I make with Arsenal fans in my church,” he said.

He also confirmed that he is a Manchester United supporter and admitted that his engagement with football discussions was mostly for humour.

Thanksgiving service announced for Arsenal fans

Following the backlash, he announced a special thanksgiving service dedicated to Arsenal fans, inviting them to attend in their jerseys as part of a celebration following the club’s Premier League triumph.

The service, according to him, is meant to “thank God for you people,” turning the controversy into a moment of appreciation for the club’s supporters.

The development comes after Arsenal clinched their first Premier League title since 2004, sparking celebrations among fans and renewed attention to the pastor’s earlier comments.

Reactions to the announcement have remained mixed online, with some fans welcoming the gesture while others questioned the intent behind the thanksgiving service.

  • Arsenal Win Premier League Title After Man City Slip Up Against Bournemouth

Arsenal F.C. have officially been crowned Premier League champions after Manchester City F.C. dropped points in a dramatic draw against AFC Bournemouth on Tuesday night.

The result confirms Arsenal’s first league title in 22 years and marks a major milestone for manager Mikel Arteta, who has guided the North London club back to the summit of English football.

    Bournemouth Shock Defending Champions

Manchester City entered the match needing a win to keep the title race alive, but Bournemouth produced a spirited performance to frustrate Pep Guardiola’s side.

Teenage forward Junior Kroupi opened the scoring for the hosts before half-time with a composed finish after Bournemouth repeatedly exposed City’s defence.

Goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic also played a crucial role, making important saves to keep Bournemouth ahead for most of the contest.

    Haaland Equaliser Not Enough

Erling Haaland eventually rescued a late point for City with an equaliser, but the draw proved costly in the title race.

The dropped points left Arsenal unreachable at the top of the table heading into the final round of fixtures.

The result also secured European football for Bournemouth next season in what is expected to be the final campaign under manager Andoni Iraola.

    Arteta Ends Arsenal’s Long Wait

For Arsenal, the title victory completes a remarkable turnaround after several seasons of rebuilding under Arteta.

The club’s consistency in attack and improved defensive discipline proved decisive throughout the campaign as the Gunners finally ended their long wait for Premier League success.

Arsenal are now expected to celebrate the title officially after their final league fixture against Crystal Palace F.C. on Sunday.

  • Dangote Reveals Why He Refused to Buy Arsenal Despite Longtime Interest

Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, has revealed why he abandoned his long-standing ambition of purchasing Arsenal, despite coming close to making a move for the club.

Dangote disclosed this during an interview with Nicolai Tangen, where he explained that he chose to focus his resources on completing the massive Dangote Refinery project instead.

    ‘I Nearly Bought Arsenal’

The billionaire businessman said Arsenal was valued at around $2 billion at the time he seriously considered acquiring the club.

According to him, he had to make a difficult decision between investing heavily in football ownership or concentrating on completing the refinery project, which later became one of Africa’s biggest industrial investments.

“I’m a big Arsenal fan, yes, I nearly bought the team,” Dangote said.

“When I was focused on buying Arsenal, I was also focused on the refinery getting to its completion. At the time, Arsenal was worth about 2 billion dollars, so I asked myself: should I put my 2 million dollars in Arsenal and allow the business to suffer, or continue the business and continue to remain a very big supporter of Arsenal?”

Why He Chose Business Over Football

Dangote said he eventually decided that remaining a loyal supporter of Arsenal made more sense than taking over ownership of the North London club.

He added that his passion for the club remains strong, noting that he still follows their matches closely and proudly wears Arsenal jerseys whenever they play.

“So I decided to continue to support them, watch their games. Any time Arsenal plays, I always wear the jersey. I am a fan, it is better I remain as a fan and continue to fund my business,” he said.

    Arsenal Now Too Expensive

The billionaire also admitted that Arsenal’s current valuation has made any future takeover attempt less appealing financially.

According to him, the club’s market value has risen sharply over the years, changing the economics of any potential deal.

“And today they are worth billions, it is not worth the while,” he added.

Dangote has repeatedly expressed admiration for Arsenal over the years, with previous comments about his interest in owning the club generating attention among football fans and business observers alike.

    Early goal sets the tone

The decision stood after a VAR review, drawing visible frustration from the home side as they pushed for a breakthrough.

    Late response falls short

  • Saka Sends Arsenal Through as Gunners End 20-Year Wait for Champions League Final

Arsenal have secured a place in the UEFA Champions League final for the first time in 20 years after defeating Atletico Madrid 2-1 on aggregate.

A decisive goal from Bukayo Saka sealed the outcome on a tense night at the Emirates Stadium.

    Saka delivers in decisive moment

With the tie balanced at 1-1 from the first leg, both sides started cautiously in the return fixture.

The breakthrough came just before halftime when Saka reacted quickly to convert a rebound after Jan Oblak parried a shot from Leandro Trossard.

The move followed a well-worked attacking sequence involving Viktor Gyokeres.

    Arsenal withstand late pressure

Atletico Madrid responded with increased urgency, creating chances that tested Arsenal’s defence.

Declan Rice made a crucial intervention to deny Giuliano Simeone, while Gabriel Magalhaes produced a key recovery to prevent another opportunity.

Despite failing to extend their lead, Arsenal remained composed and protected their advantage until the final whistle.

    Arteta’s side chase historic season

Under Mikel Arteta, Arsenal’s European run has seen them eliminate major opponents including Inter Milan, Sporting and Atletico Madrid.

The club is now in contention for both the Premier League and Champions League titles, raising the prospect of a historic double.

    How it unfolded

    Decisive moment

The game was settled in the 65th minute when Haaland finished calmly from inside the box to restore City’s lead.

The goal ultimately separated both teams in a tightly contested encounter.

Despite creating opportunities, they lacked the cutting edge needed to get back into the game.

    What it means

The result reduces the gap at the top of the table and gives Manchester City renewed momentum in the title race.

For Arsenal, the defeat represents a setback in their push to maintain their lead, with crucial fixtures still ahead.
