1. Taecyeon’s family immigrated to Bedford, Massachusetts when he was 10 years old.
2. His sister saw a JYP Entertainment audition online and persuaded him to audition for the agency.
3. He traveled to New York City to audition on his 17th birthday and after a week was selected among the last 35 to return to South Korea.
4. While a student at Bedford High School, he was also a member of the Chess Club, Jazz Band, JV Soccer Team and the National Honor Society.
5. Taecyeon originally wanted to be a model for JYP Entertainment but the jury wanted him to sing and dance and he ended up among the top 12 finalists to compete in a show called Superstar Survival but unfortunately he was the first to be eliminated became.

7. In 2008, Taecyeon participated in the MNET show called Hot Blood Men It was about the extreme training of 13 trainees to become a member of the boy band One Day which later spawned 2 new bands namely 2 AM and 2 PM .

9. In 2010, he was cast as a permanent member of the South Korean variety show Family Outing Season 2, but the show was cancelled.
