Swoosie Kurtz is one of the most famous American actresses who has won an Emmy Award and two Tony Awards. Kurtz is probably best known for her performances in Dangerous Liaisons in 1988, Wildcats in 1986, and Bubble Boy in 2001. Swoosie Kurtz was born on September 6, 1944 in Omaha, Nebraska. She was born to father Frank Allen Kurtz who was an Air Force bomber pilot. His mother Margaret Margo, on the other hand, was a very well known author. Due to his father’s profession, Swoosie moved around a lot during his formative years. She grew up in eight different states and had a wonderful chance to explore different parts of the country.
Swoosie had a passion for the entertainment industry from an early age. She then enrolled at the University of Southern California and earned a degree in theater. Kurtz then joined the prestigious London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.

Swoosie appeared on television when she was just 17 after being cast on the sitcom ‘The Donna Reed Show’ alongside her father. Her career, however, began professionally when she turned 30 with the show, Ah, Wilderness!. Swoosie was starting to find more and more fame in the years to come. She then played roles in projects like “Uncommon Women and Others”, “A History of the American Film”. She later won the Tony for playing Gwen on July 5, 1980.
