Summer eye care tips that will keep your eyes healthy and sparkling
With eyes…there is light in life. Practice these simple things in your daily lifestyle this summer to keep your eyes healthy and fresh.
No matter what type of workout you choose, yoga or aerobics, you’ll always find that a few exercises are specifically dedicated to vision. Eyes are that important. We all know how boring exercise can be, and that’s why we keep this article free of training tips. Instead, we bring you simple ideas designed to keep your eyes looking fresh and healthy all summer long.
1. Always wear sunglasses when you head out : The increase in global warming is causing a gradual depletion of the ozone layer. The ozone layer is responsible for filtering the sun’s harmful rays before they reach the earth. However, the layer cannot fully fulfill its task, since various types of pollutants make the layer thinner. These rays can be blinding. In summer, just a few seconds in the midday sun can exhaust your eyes. It is therefore important that you always wear sunglasses when going out during the day. In any case, buy branded sunglasses that guarantee effective protection from the sun. Poor quality sunglasses can actually damage your eyes.
2. Use Eye Drops: Use eye drops designed to clean the dirt from your eyes and give them an instant refreshing feeling. These can be easily purchased at the local pharmacy. Many eye drops are available over the counter. If you have no history of eye-related problems, you can safely use OTC eye drops. Nevertheless, it is always better to have eye drops prescribed by an ophthalmologist.
3. Use an Eye Tonic : If you wear numbered glasses, then it’s very important that you take an eye tonic on a regular basis. Otherwise you must use eye tonic as these supplements are not only good for weak eyes but also help to keep healthy eyes strong. You can certainly see an improvement in the strength of your eyes with an eye tonic. People who work at the computer for a long time need to use eye tonics every day.
4. Gentle cold-pressing of the eyes before bed : Nothing can relieve your eyes from the scorching effects of the sun more than a soft cold-press. Wrap 1-2 ice cubes in a towel. Gently press these onto the eyes and surrounding area. Your eyes may feel a slight sting, but within a few seconds you will begin to feel relief. Keep doing this until the cubes are completely melted. This must not take longer than 10 minutes. Wake up the next morning to see fresh eyes, free of dark circles and with a healthy sparkle.
5. Splashing Cold Water Between Work Hours : Unless you’re sporting a makeup look that youshould last until the evening, we highly recommend washing your face and using cold water during the day (but not ice cold water ) to splash water in the open eyes. Cold water instantly relieves any stress in the eyes.

7. Sleep Tight: If you really want to keep your eyes healthy then have a proper sleep schedule and follow it religiously. Also, it is important that you get at least 6-8 hours of sleep each night to regain full eye strength. Many people find it difficult to sleep properly in the summer because it is humid and they sweat. We recommend that you take a cold shower just before hitting the bed.
