Sticky Fingaz is an American rapper, record producer, film writer and editor, actor and television director. He is best known for being a member of Onyx, a rap group that also includes other male rappers including his cousin Fredro Starr. He joined the group to sign with JMJ Records. The JMJ Records owner only agreed to sign Sticky Fingaz as long as he agreed to be a member of the Onyx group. While in the group he became very popular for his strong energy and unique hoarse voice. Eventually he became the leader of the group and released a few albums with them before starting out on his own.
Sticky Fingaz is also known for his roles on television, most notably his starring role as Blade in Blade , a television series in which he was the hybrid human and vampire hunter. He made his acting debut in 1993 when he played a role in the film Strapped Down . He made other theatrical film appearances and even had feature film credits. His role as Tyrone in the film Next Friday also made him very popular. He didn’t make his television debut until 1995, when he starred in New York Undercover and Nash Bridges . He has also written, produced and directed films. The two films he has directed, Captured on Tape and One Day in the Lifebelong to the rap genre and were produced by his production company Major Independents and published by Lionsgate Home Entertainment.

- Sticky Fingaz is very close to his cousin Fredro Starr. When he was 16, he lived with him in South Jamaica, Queens. Both became members of the rap group Onyx and once appeared in the same film. Clockers in 1995.
- He joined the group Oynx in 1992 and was released to 3 very popular albums with them before starting his own career. When he’s not playing, he still goes to the group and sings with them in hopes of producing an album that will be better received than what they’ve done before.

- Fingaz has also provided his voice in a video game titled Def Jam: Fight for NY . He was one of the antagonists in the game. He appeared in the game sequel Def Jam: Icon as “Wink”.
- The movie It’s Time. was released through Fingaz’ production company. His roles in the film were quite a lot. In addition to playing a role, he was also the cinematographer, director and producer of the film.
