He was considered one of the great cartoonists of American comics. Steve Ditko led a solitary life, to the point that he was found dead in his home by his neighbors at age 90. He had not appeared publicly in decades until his death.

Born on November 2, 1927, New Yorker  Steve Ditko  began working for small publishers. He later signed on to Atlas, which would later become Marvel Comics. In 1962, screenwriter Stan Lee asked him to design a new teenage hero, Spider-Man, who would debut in Amazing Fantasy #15. His enormous success led to his creation immediately getting its own title, which Steve Ditko himself drew throughout the first 38 issues. The best-known villains appeared in them, such as Green Goblin or Doctor Octopus.

For the house he also created Doctor Strange, master of the mystical arts in 1963. But he was famous for his reclusive character, to the point that Walt Disney contacted him when the film about this last character, played by  Benedict Cumberbatch . But he refused to make any kind of cameo appearance or make any statements. “I never talk about myself. I do my job to the best of my ability and I like it, ”he declared in the last interview he gave, which dates back to 1968.

“We all want to leave our legacy in the world, and this guy did it,” says  Tom Holland , who plays the Wall Crawler on screen. “He made a lot of people happy. Thanks Steve”.
