- Steffi Graf is the first professional tennis player (male or female) to have won every Grand Slam event at least four times.
- In 1988, she became the first professional tennis player (male or female) to complete the Golden Slam with four major Grand Slam titles and the Olympic gold medal in a single calendar year (1988).
- In December 1999, a panel of experts selected by the Associated Press declared Steffi the greatest female tennis player of the 20th century.
- She has established a non-profit foundation, Children for Tomorrow, which develops and implements projects to help children suffering from trauma as a result of war or other crises.
- Graf is considered one of the few professional tennis players to have had success on both grass, clay and hard courts.
- In March 2012, the Tennis Channel ranked her #1 on their “100 Greatest Tennis Players of All Time” list.
