Early age and education
Steff Gaulter was born in 1976, in Sway Hampshire, England, he grew up with his sister named Vicky and his brother Mark. She was interested in becoming a television personality since her childhood.
Gaulter earned a master’s degree in physics from the University of Cambridge. She also received valedictorian marks from the University in her senior year’s presentation project.

Gaulter started his career teaching GSCE and A-level Physics and Mathematics for a whole summer in Uganda. After a few months of teaching, Gaulter was chosen as a Scientific Instrument Trainer at workshops and seminars throughout the UK, especially in Ellipsometry, which is known as a non-destructive way to surface.
Later, in 1999, Gaulter joined the Met Office as a fully trained forecaster. He also became the first person to win an award for earning distinction on the forecasting final exam. While at the Met Office, Gaulter worked for BBC Bristol.
After the Met Office, Gaulter worked as a weather forecaster for Sky News UK in 2002. While working at Sky News, Gaulter provided weather forecasts for various events including Glastonbury Music Festival, Cheltenham Festival and Fa Club Final, among others.
Al Jazeera recruited Gaulter in November 2006 as a weather presenter and she has been working for the network ever since.
