With more than a hundred screen appearances, Stefan Gierasch is another face of those who sound like moviegoers. Many will remember him as the director of the “Carrie” institute, among other roles. A supporting actor for six decades, he passed away on September 6, 2014 at the age of 88 at his Santa Monica residence, due to complications after suffering a stroke.

Born on February 5, 1926, New Yorker Stefan Gierasch worked as an ambulance driver before enrolling at the Actors Studio in 1952. He later became a prolific character actor, especially in the field of television series, time that became a regular presence on Broadway billboards.

Over the years, the actor has played numerous characters in the cinema that leave a certain mark, such as the preacher from The Hustler , alongside Paul Newman , the hotel employee Fritz, in What’s Wrong, Doctor? , the mountaineer Del Gue in The Adventures of Jeremiah Johnson , the mayor of the town that Clint Eastwood ‘s character allegedly helped in Hell of Cowards , or Mr. Morton, the principal of Carrie ‘s high school . He remained active until 2009.

The interpreter was happily married to Hedy Sontag, with whom he had three children, and who accompanied him until the moment of his death.
