Following the receipt of all necessary regulatory clearances, the board of directors of Stanbic IBTC Holdings Plc has appointed Babatunde Omotowa as an independent non-executive director.
This information is provided in a disclosure that is signed by the company secretary, Chidi Okezie, and submitted to the Nigerian Exchange.
The information highlighted Omotowa as a global energy sector leader with over 26 years of experience in organizational leadership, commercial, strategic, and operational roles in Europe, Africa, the United States, Asia, and the Middle East.
From December 2011 to September 2016, Omotowa led Nigeria LNG Limited as managing director and CEO. He worked in a variety of positions before joining Nigeria LNG, including director and general manager at Shell Petroleum Development Company, vice president of Shell Global Upstream E&P, and special adviser to Shell Global Upstream.

In addition to serving as an independent director on the board of Pearlhill Technology USA, he serves as the chairman of the advisory board for Montserrado Oil and Gas B.V.
He has an Honorary Doctor of Science, two Master of Business Administration degrees in Operations Research and Strategic Supply, and a B.Sc. in Industrial Chemistry. He has taken many leadership programs at Harvard, INSEAD, and IMD, and he is currently pursuing a DBA at Herriot Watts University in Edinburgh. He also serves as the president of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply, a global organization with over 100,000 members situated in London, UK.
