  • In 1971, the Department of Health, Education and Welfare wrote to Stan, asking him to include a quote about “drug control” in one of his books. Stan complied with the request and created a scenario in a Spider-Man comic issue where Harry (Spider-Man’s best friend) began to abuse drug use as he couldn’t handle his breakup. However, the comic was rejected by the CCA. But Stan published the book anyway.
  • In 1998, Stan Lee signed a contract with Wunder , who stated that he would be paid a certain amount of profits from the films that featured his character creations. However, things didn’t go as planned by the contract, which he had to sue Miracle in 2002 for being underpaid. The company later compensated him $1 million before receiving 10% of the profits the company made from those films.
  • In 2018, he sued POW! Entertainment for fraud seeking $1 billion in damages. However, he dropped the charges a few months later.

  1. From 1945 to 1947 he lived in a rented apartment on the top floor of a brownstone in east ’90s Manhattan.
