Almost always associated with the comic genre, he achieved his greatest international success with “Love at first bite.” The director Stan Dragoti died on July 13, 2018 in Los Angeles, as a result of pneumonia at the age of 85, according to Yolanda, his wife.

Born on October 4, 1932 in Manhattan,  Stan Dragoti  came from a family of Albanian immigrants. Graduated from Visuals Arts College, he started out as a commercial maker in the city of skyscrapers. After working on the “I Love New York” campaign with Charlie Moss, he co-wrote a script with him that would end up being the western Dirty Little Billy, which was his debut as a director.

His greatest success came with the vampire parody  Love at First Bite , with the ever-tanned  George Hamilton  playing a pale bloodsucker, evicted from his castle by the communist government of Romania. During a trip to the Cannes Film Festival to promote the film,  Stan Dragoti  was arrested by the police for possession of cocaine, spending eight weeks in prison.

He was also responsible for  The Crazy Adventures of a Mr. Mom , with  Michael Keaton , and  The Man with a Red Shoe , with  Tom Hanks . He retired in 1991, following the bland  College Hero .
