The American Space exploration Corporation, Space X plans to send human muscle Cells into space in order to learn about ageing.

The experiment which is called MicroAge aims to look at how people can live longer and healthier lives by blasting tiny human muscle cells into space.

The experiment is expected to launch today the 21st of December 2021  and return to Earth in January 2022 for more analysis.

According to the report on BBC, Scientists will study the cells in space to understand what happens when people age and why.

The report stated that Researchers from the University of Liverpool will look at what happens to the muscle tissue in space and compare the results to what happens on Earth.

This will help them understand why muscles get weaker as people get older and look at ways to stop the ageing process.

Professor Malcolm Jackson, from the University of Liverpool, said: “Ageing is one of the greatest challenges of the 21st century and we will learn a great deal about how muscle responds to microgravity and ageing from the data we obtain from this study.”
