Skylar Diggins is an American professional basketball player for the Dallas Wings of the Women’s National Basketball Association.
Early age and education
Skylar Diggins was born on August 2, 1990 in South Bend Indiana. Diggins is the daughter of Tige Diggins Renee Scott and the stepdaughter of Sarah Diggins and Maurice Scott.
Diggins also has three younger brothers named Tige, Destyn. and Maurice and a younger sister named Hanneaf. Diggins was very interested in sports when she grew up playing softball.
Diggins joined Washington High School in South Bend Indiana. He was a four-year starter and a three-year team captain at Washington High School.

Diggins’ career began when she began playing high school when she finished her career with 2,790 points as the third-highest girls’ scoring total in Indiana history averaging 25.9 points per game.
During those times, he led the Panthers to state championship games, including Washington’s title-winning season in 2007.
Diggins was a two-time Gatorade Indiana Women’s Basketball Player of the Year. She was also named as a WBCA All-American, she was also a McDonald’s Section All-American.
After her high school, as a freshman, Diggins became the fourth Indiana native to join the All-Ireland roster in the year 2009-2010, as she was one of three Miss Basketball winners on the Notre Give me 2009-2010. She also set records for steals, free throws made, and free throws attempted.
Diggins’ professional career began in the 2013 WNBA Draft, where the Tulsa Shock selected her third overall. After her perfect score in the game, she was named to the All-Rookie team.
She also had a breakout year in the 2014 WNBA season and was named a WNBA All-Star for the first time. On June 28, 2015, Diggins suffered a torn ACL with 44 seconds remaining in a regular season game.
Diggins played on Team USA at the 2011 World University Games held in Shenzen China. The team won all six games to achieve a gold medal. Diggins was the team’s third leading scorer with 68 points. In September 2015, he received the sad news that he did not make it to the World Championship.

Skylar Diggins is currently engaged to her longtime boyfriend, Daniel Smith, a former Clay High School catcher and Irish catcher. After dating for a long period of time, Diggins got engaged to her longtime boyfriend on June 20, 2016.
Later, in April 2015, they finally decided to get married, since then they spend their married life happily when Skylar changed her name to Diggins-Smith.
