Simon MacCorkindale
Simon MacCorkindale is a familiar face to those who followed the Falcon Crest series at the time . The British actor played a womanizing lawyer in the famous series of families dedicated to the vineyards. McCorkindale, who starred in the 1980s series Manimal , died at age 58 on October 14, 2010 from colon cancer, actress Susan George, his wife, has declared.
Born on February 12, 1952 in the English town of Ely (Cambridgeshire), Simon Charles Pendered MacCorkindale was going to be a diplomat, and it was difficult for him to convince his father, an army officer, that working in the theater was a decent job. He ended up studying at the Studio 68 theater school, and started strongly in the London theater, in titles like “Pygmalion”. He also had a small role in an episode of the mythical series Yo, Claudio .
He was about to be chosen to play James Bond, but fate had other roles in store for him on the big screen. Although he had had an anecdotal role in The Riddle Is Called Juggernaut , his first major film role was in the film Death on the Nile , during which he wrote to friends that he was excited to shoot a scene with the legendary Bette Davis . He was also a supporting role in Jaws 3-D, the great shark , the third installment of the shark saga started by Steven Spielberg .
Shortly after, he was chosen as the protagonist of Manimal , an American series in which he played a doctor who helped the police solve crimes with his ability to turn into various animals. But the series only lasted eight episodes. He had more success as a secondary in the legendary Falcon Crest , where he played the lawyer always in trouble with skirts Greg Reardon, between 1984 and 1986.
He subsequently returned to Britain, where he played Dr. Harry Harper for six years in the medical series Casualty . During the rest of his career he was dedicated to supporting characters in series like Cazantesoros .
