Simon Phillip Cowell was born on October 7, 1959, in Lambeth, London, and grew up in Elstree, Hertfordshire. His father, Eric Selig Phillip Cowell who lived from 1918 to 1999, was a real estate agent, property developer, and executive in the music business.
