Tall, bald, bearded and menacing in appearance, he played the killer clown in Rob Zombie’s brutal films “House of a Thousand Corpses” and “The Devil’s Renegades.” In addition, Sid Haig had a long career as a secondary, coming to work under the orders of George Lucas and Quentin Tarntino. The actor died at the age of 80 on Saturday, September 21, 2019, after several days hospitalized as a result of a stroke, as Suzie, his wife, has announced on social networks. “My light, my heart, the other half of my soul, has moved from this realm to the next,” the text explains.

Born on July 14, 1939, in Fresno, California, Sidney Eddy Mosesian spent his childhood in an Armenian community. In high school, drama teacher Alice Merrill noticed that he had talent as an actor, so she advised him to study for it. He eventually enrolled in acting at the Pasadena Playhouse, where he shared the classroom with Gene Hackman . Upon completion, he moved to Hollywood to try his luck.

Although he was involved in numerous series, such as Mission Impossible , and was present in George Lucas ‘s debut , THX 1138 , Sid Haig was never lucky. But it’s also that when she came to meet him… he couldn’t distinguish her. Apparently, Quentin Tarantino offered him the role of Marsellus Wallace for Pulp Fiction , but he turned it down because he was more interested in other television work. Finally, the director replaced him with  Ving Rhames , before which he stated in interviews that he always regretted his mistake. Despite everything, Tarantino wrote specifically for him a role as a judge, to Jackie Brown, and would later recover him in Kill Bill, Volume 2 .

Fans of fanterror remember him as the sinister Captain Spaulding, a psychopathic clown in the wild (and quite debatable)  House of 1000 Corpses . He reprized the role in the sequel, The Devil’s Forsaken , and in Three from Hell , released shortly before his death. The trilogy’s director, Rob Zombie , also gave him a brief role, as a graveyard caretaker, in Halloween. The Origin , his deteriorated revision of John Carpenter ‘s classic .
